Our Story
The Tana Award Community Development Organization was founded on the belief in the power of social media for good in Ethiopia. Initiated by Demsse Ayalew, the venture began as the "Tana Award," focusing on recognizing the positive contributions of Ethiopian digital citizens.
The 3rd Annual Tana Social Media Award was successfully held in 2019, marking a significant milestone in our journey. Recognizing the deeper potential for positive change that social media can bring to our communities, we decided to expand the scope of our platform and contributions.
Our organization was officially registered as a local community development organization under the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Authority for Civil Society on November 28, 2024, with Registry Number 7511. This registration, in accordance with Proclamation No. 1113/2019, solidifies our commitment to leveraging social media for accurate information, cultural preservation, technological innovation for charity, gender equality, and proactive health awareness.

Legal Status & Registration
The Tana Award Community Development Organization is a legally registered and operating entity under the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. Our organization was officially registered as a Local Organization with Registry Number 7511 by the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Authority for Civil Society (ACSO) on November 28, 2024.
This registration is in accordance with the Civil Society Organizations Proclamation No. 1113/2019, affirming our commitment to providing credible and sustainable services within a formal legal framework.
